My reflection

I see my self standing and looking.

I look quiet normal if you know me.

If you look closer you see tears on my cheek.

If you look closer you see the doubt in my vision.

I wash my face to make it clean.

But closer up you see bruises and scars,

You see the dark worry lines on my brow.

If you can see all of this you know how I feel.

I strip down to just my under wears.

I see a clean body with maturity and grace.

Take a step closer and you will see cuts and wounds.

see the deep cuts in my arms that never stop bleeding.

Just like everyone else, you will see a happy girl smiling.

I look clean, joyous, happy and happy to be alive.

My reflection is deceiving and it lies about how I feel.

But you wouldn't know because you never look closer.
