My Ring

When I look

At my hand

I see my ring

Then I think

Back to a time

To my mom

She gave it to me

Her face lit up

And so did mine

She gave me everything

Gave hope

Gave love and security

I wish I could repay her

She’s done so much

Should have thought sooner

She’s long gone

But the ring helps me

It helps me know she is not wrong
