My Roof

My greatest influencer is truly myself.

By meditating and finding a clear mind, I find myself.

This has had the greatest impact on my life thus far.

And my favorite place to meditate? My roof.

Being on my roof gives me the empowering feeling that

I’m above all the petty, minute details of day-to-day life.

My love of climbing does not go unfulfilled when reaching this destination. I

Being on my roof is like watching a 3D movie.

Above my head, a flock of geese soar by, and their wings could be heard

flapping against the wind currents.

A symphony of evening birds call to one another, as I enjoy

the last glimpses of the day’s sunshine.

Cotton candy clouds swirl with the orange horizon,

like a Van Gogh Painting.

Skinny, skeleton trees shiver in the breeze, but the cold

cannot reach me in the safe depths of my mind.

I could sit up there for hours at a time.

Getting lost in the sky, in the distance, in time.

I lose myself in hopes of finding myself. This is my greatest influencer.
