My Rose

As I was walking through the crumbling ashes,

tears streaming down my face,

I thought that all life had died.

Then, I saw a minuscule rose.

A perfect red rose had grown out of the rubble

This little rose gave me hope and reason.

It gave me a reason to hold on

So I loved it, I gave it water everyday and wished for the sunlight to come.

And soon, my rose turned into a magnificent rose bush.

Little things began to grow around it.

My rose became the center of my small little selfish world

I never realized how something so small, could one day become everything.

And eventually, I knew I would have to move on

Because I found a new rose, and it’s you.
