My Rough Childhood

Have you ever been sad, alone or even felt unloved?

Well, that’s been me since my childhood

Going from home to home feeling like an intruder in a stranger’s home

Never thinking or even knowing what it felt like to be loved

Walking the streets trying to live

And not even knowing where my family is

“Where is your mom?” you ask

I respond with “what mom?” I raised myself because that was my task

She was too busy choosing drugs

That were important to her than her own kids

Dad was busy running from the cops trying to hide

Because getting citizenship papers would break his pride

Now I got a home at the age of 3 but is it worth it

When every time you do something wrong you get hit

Being told you were a mistake

And always wanting to run away to another state

When you try to tell people how your feeling

Always putting on the same face and telling the same lie everyday that I’m fine.
