My Savior

The clank of metal warns of her deeds The silent screams of razors waiting To caress her arms The soft hiss of skin splitting The tears of a child spilling down her cheeks The cry of the weak, the pain of the strong The crackle of gauze tells me she is done. This is my sister’s lullaby for me This is my protector’s relief Is this how I am to end up? Causing my own pain Scaring my body Killing my soul Is this my destiny? Or will she step up and be my savior…
