My Scars

They came to me when I was but 16 years old

They stayed with all the way

They faded as time went

But they stayed with me

Through thick and thin

Through lie and truth

They stayed with me

When I feared

They comforted me

When I wavered

They warned me

I am who I am

They are who they are

I cannot hide where they hail from

I will not hide where they hail from

They are my scars and I am proud

For I survived
