To My School

Sun, 01/21/2018 - 21:06 -- mdegn26

Am I proud to be a Bulldog?

I always used to be.

Am I proud of how my school values sports

Over academics?

No.

Am I proud of how no one cares about the success of

Our music department

Our forensics team

or any other non-athletic extracurricular?

No.

To my school,

Thanks for 4 years of ignoring the pep band at every sporting event

For 4 years of people asking, "What's forensics?"

For 4 years of being involved in so many things that make my school a better place

But it's not a sport so no one cares

So thanks, school, for those 4 years of hidden memories

Known to the few that value other extracurriculars over athletics

The few that say, "No, I'm not proud to be a Bulldog..."

"But I'm proud of who I am."

"And what I've done."

"What I've accomplished."

Thank you, PHS. And cheers to the Class of 2018.
