My Second Mom
As I made my schedule for high school, I had chosen Mrs. Krueger's class to get the credit and be done with it, because it had been the first thing I saw that didn't sound as bad. Looking back at the room environment, it made me feel great; it had that love, fun, but serious sense to it. Who would have guessed I was making a sharp right turn in life when I picked her class?
As I entered the room, I took the closest seat I could find not wanting to make eye contact with the radiant woman behind the desk. I saw the seriousness she took in her job, but I also identified the love she had in it. I know that even though she said she was just "putting in grades" she was carefully observing and getting to know us discretely. I only wish I had met her earlier, but she's taught me that no matter what things happen for a reason.
She became the best teacher in my entire school history. She taught about dogs, cows, horses and all sorts of animals, but somehow there were life lessons that she left up to us to learn from -- oh and not to mention those lengthy speeches about having to go to college and be better people.
It took me my second year of high school to realize how much she impacted my life. I loved how I suddenly realized how attached I was to her. Inspiration grew in me as I saw all the passion such a gentle person could carry. She helped me see the good instead of all those dreadful things surrounding my life. I'd never met someone, even if they had problems of their own, who took the time to listen and help you find a way to solutions and make things not easy, but bearable.
As my senior year in high school comes to an end I know that I love her dearly. Unlike other teens, I don't look up to dumb artists who make stupid mistakes. I've come to find that I was meant to move to a small town, attend a small school, and enter a small Ag building, to find that my idol is the wisest woman with an immense heart. I don't know if she realizes how much I love her, how much she's inspired me, and how much I appreciate her being in my life; she means so much to me.
From all that I've learned I don't wish I could change anything. Everything has happened exactly how it should have, according to God's will. Everything I have in life now, whether good or bad (mostly the good), I appreciate greatly. I thank God for giving me the opportunity of having a wonderful Ag teacher; a wonderful second mom.
