My Secret

You are my light

You are my muse

With you, I share my fright

With you, I document my blues

Your succulent words fuel me

Your rhythm moves me

For you have saved me once again

For that I am Thankful, amen

You I carry hidden in my soul

From my lips, I dare not speak of thee

You bless me tenfold

Poetry, you make me fall to my knees

Because you make me as valuable as gold

You give me life like trees

You are my best-kept secret

Because you make me free
