My Secret Ghost

There is a ghost I see
She is always right behind me
Sometimes she will reveal herself
But this is quite rare

She is seen in the reflection
And I am her protection
There are few who get to see her
For she is so very shy

Set free is she at home
And when I am alone
Around my family she wonders
But few others see her face

When you are around
She feels no longer bound
For you are one who she loves
Therefore you know her name

Its hard for her to find comfort
After she has had so much hurt
So to others she is a stranger
But not to those she loves

I wish the she would stay
And not just hide everyday
As a shadow behind myself
That will never see the light

She saves herself for the fortunate few
Consisting of mother, father, brother and you
I guess we are better off this way
Because now she’s a special, secret part of me
