My self image
Dear self-imagine,
Where have you been? I haven't heard from you in a long while.
I miss you. And I'm sorry for not loving you the way you loved me.
I was scared. I was insecure. But most of all I wasn't ready to love.
I'm sorry for consantly telling you that you weren't good enough.
I'm sorry for tearing you apart.
I'm sorry for judging you.
I'm sorry for not embracing you.
I'm sorry that I wasn't capable of treating you right.
People say you can't give what you don't have, I didn't have love within me.
I wasn't capable of loving you.
But now I am. I know this apology is long over due.
There were many things I had yet to learn and experience.
I am ready now. I am ready to love you.
I am ready to embrace you completely.
Sincerely,
Yessenia
