My Senses
Can you smell that? I can.
That aroma that fills your nastrols, that air that fills your lungs.
You call it gross and putrid, but not me.
I love that smell, it tells me that the earth is healthy.
But you want to take it away.
Can you hear that? I can.
The sound of a rumbling engine, the sound of bells calling in the field.
You call that annoying and disruptive, but not me.
I embrace that sound, it's the earth singing her songs.
But you want to drown her out.
Can you feel that? I can.
The rich black earth, the pure water falling on the feild stones.
You say its a nuisance and messy, but I dont.
I encourage that feeling, it's the life force running over the land.
But you hide from it.
Can you taste that? I can.
The crisp skin of organic, the juices run down your throat.
You say its cheeper at a super store and prefer fast food, but I don't.
I anticipate every fresh morsel that mother earth gives me.
But you regect her.
Can you see that?
That is a hard working girl in the fields of a farm.
She thanks the earth and sky for letting her be what she is.
That girl is me.
