My Shadow

It always follows me around, Im thinking, as I trace the outline of my shadow on the ground. I wonder if that shadow thinks I care I always see it hiding over there I wish it would just let me be but my shadow will never let me free. The shadow has tied itself to me with an invisible cord anchored into me through my core. If I was able to ditch my shadow I wonder how light my body would feel I wish that shadows weren't even real they are so rude popping up and staying all day and at night time it's the same way. I wonder if shadows eat our fears and stay hydrated off our tears either way the loyalty of my shadow knows no end because secretly she is my only friend.
