My shadow, my friend, my sister
At two years old "it" was my shadow, "it" followed me every where, my every move
I didn't like my shadow that much, I liked it better when I was alone, just me, no one else
At five "it" was my enemy, countless arguments, countless fist fights, high pitched screams of unsettled anger
At ten "it" began finding its own way, way of dressing , way of talking
Then at fifteen "it" started talking about boys, the way it would wear "its" hair, what shirts of mine "it" would wear to school
"It" began telling people we were related, and was no longer embarrassed to be seen with me in public
But at barley seventeen, "it" is now my friend, we paint each others toes, watch movies together, go out together
That "It" ,is my sister, my name means Earth in Cheyenne Indian, and just like the Earth holding the shadow of the bright Sun , that is my sister, a shadow becoming the bright Sun.
