In My Shoes

If you walked a mile in my shoes,

It would be a very long cruise...
and you'd probably be confused, or even amused,
about the world you were entering.

You will see a life splintering off in many directions.
It's quite a reflection of good and bad connections
to life's little deflections.

From running a course of abuse,
to drug misuse, and lots of tattoos...
But my shoes still fit.

There's no doubt I'm going to make it,
even if I had to fake it...I WILL make it.
I believe I've got the grit, to tolerate most of life's shit.

I'm no hypocrite.
I can take it.
Yea, when life gives me lemons,
I'm thinking, "That's some bad ass lemonade!", as I make it.
That's better than a base-hit;
That's a home run! No shit!

So my shoes may not fit you
But they get me through my day, in a way,
that's okay for me.

That's all that matters you see....
a size 8 is just right for me and my weight.
You may carry your weight a different way...
but that's a story for another day.
