My Short High School Life

Through the doors

One by one

I’m already bored,

But I’ve hardly just begun

Complex numbers

On the page

They say they’ll stay with me

Till my old age

Punctuation,

grammar and lines

This is a sentence

That rhymes

Tiny molecules and fizzing concoctions

A new lab report due by tomorrow

Though I really only care about clock-watching

And so my grades leave me in sorrow

Seems like more notes every day

In a togue I barely understand

I wish I could just walk away

Foreign language I can barely withstand

Finally a break from the toil

A bit of refreshement for me, please

But, this really makes my blood boil:

The time just seems to flee

Clanging doors and shuffiling feet

Got into soccer - quite a feat!

The green pinnies are the team to beat

But to them we’re merely fresh meat

I am not a poet

And neither are my friends

But wouldn’t you know it -

It’s already time to head out again
