By My Side

I used to lay in bed,

stress and doubt crowding my head.

Crying and begging for someone to help,

about to give up and say I failed.

Then he came and gave me a reason,

a reason to try and pick up the peices.

He gave me motivation to get into college,

helping me through this emotional blockage.

I started to study for the many tests,

barely taking a breath.

Pushing myself to get the scores that I needed,

hoping that I wont be defeated.

After a while I started to fall for him,

feeling like my chances with him were slim.

Then he came and said he felt the same,

hoping for one day to share a last name.

He makes me inspired to further my education,

wanting to met my parents expectations.

I'll always be by his side,

cause I know he'll be by mine.
