My Significant Other
You smile.
You smile often.
It's amazing to see my heart begin to soften.
Goodbye to the anger be feel down low,
And hello to the beauty that appears in your heart.
It's not surprising we haven't fallen apart.
We go everywhere-- The market, the beach-- together.
Somehow, you always find a way to make my life better.
We don't talk everyday,
Yet there is so much to say
Some people often need space,
But we're different,
I believe my heart is in the right place.
We're living in the present,
But I wish we could rewind it,
Just to be reminded,
Of all the bonds we built within 5 years.
Oh, how your shoulder was there for all my tears.
I would never abandon the ship,
Because we have a healthy relationship.
