My Singing Box

My Singing Box

i call you my singing box

singing your never ending song

all hard edges  soft fuzzy insides

you hold my pain  you hold my beauty

i call you my singing box

singing your joyful song

beautiful patterns of art all over

you hold the memories I long for

i call you my singing box

singing your haunting song

the tiny machine turning and turning to the beat of your song

you hold the memories I long to forget

i call you my singing box

others call you a jewelry box

but you hold no jewelry

but the people I long for the most
