to my sister

Dear Lil’ Sis,

I know I’ve been away for a while

But I didn’t know you would grow this much

It’s not that you’re getting taller,

But your mind is growing so sharp

And your heart is growing so full.

I sit only a few hours away

And yet I feel like with each hour

You grow more and more

And I cannot be there to express how

Truly

Deeply

unequivocally

Proud of you I am.

I wish I could say I could see myself in you,

But I see so much more than I could be.

Love,

Big Sis
