My Smile Hurts
Dear Me,
When I’m feeling pain and hurt, I smile.
When I’m feeling happy and joyful, I smile.
When I’m feeling embarrassed, I smile. To the many emotion I feel, I smile everyday.
My smile hurts
The pain and disparity that is my life; I smile to run away and hide to the happy facade that is me. Why, to keep me from remembering and to consume myself in joy and happiness.
My smile hurts.
The voices of others will erase my mind of the hurt. I want to run away from it all and be free but there is no way out. The knives in my heart pierce deeper everyday I feel this pain. I laugh and smile to all the bad I feel and go through.
My smile hurts
But this is not a cry for help, this is a declaration. Of my triumph and the power that I have gained from my struggle that made me stronger. I will learn from the mistake that is dished out by the pain and grow from them. I will fight my way to the top and gain the great future that I have earned.
My smile is my trophy
For as many tears I have cried, the amount of my smiles have doubled. For all the times I haven’t given up on my life and moved on to a brighter day. To stay positive and happy with the life I still have.
My smile is my reminder
To stand tall in the face of pain and death and say “not today”. To pop in my headphones and tune out the haters that step in my way to success. To get right back up when I fall and try again.
My smile are the good times
When I am around the people who love me for me and every laugh is a record of the good times in my life. For the family and friends, who are greater than gold itself. Even if there are hard times that begins for many different reasons, I know that the good times happen 10x more. I won’t be beaten because when life punches once, I will punch a dozen right back.
I love MY smile!
Sincerely, Yourself
