My Soldier

A glass half full is waiting in vain. Dust gathers on its surroundings, burring the pain.
The wind blows through the broken wall. It watches as the paint begins to fall.
The room becomes quiet with song. The notes are deep and long.
The sun's beams wander. Abandoning the glass alone forever to ponder.
Blackness engulfs the bright eyes. Crushing it into the abyss of lost ties.
It slices flesh like a knife. Mincing the hope of a returned life.
Water surrounds its feet. It's heart hurries its beat.
Standing still. It's easier that a pill.
