My Soldier My Son

As I sit here thinking and missing you

So far away from eachother

Mother and Son

Always going to worry about you.

You were my first born and the first star

That everyone seen in my eyes when I was carrying you

In my belly for the 9 months

Just to be ripped out of my life like you were so abruptly.

Here we are 18 years later you are doing so great for yourself

Making something out of your life

As I sit here thinking about you hoping you are ok i get the call

Thinking to myself that it would be you on the other end.

But it hit me hard when they said mam I am sorry to inform you

But your son was killed in the line of duty

He was a great soldier sorry to inform you that he is gone

I loved serving with him he was a great kid .

So now I am sitting here feeling the sorrow and pain

As I start on this journey to mourn over you

When i get to tell the rest of the family about the tragedy.
