my son the poet

My son is a poet

to the free verse he owe it

From baseball to play to PHD

pride of him in me

BG, Ga and Mizzou

Coming to a magazine or book near you

many stories he has to tell

about life, love, heaven and hell

he is so talented i want to see

what his future will reveal to me

a fine young man with ideas of gold

the value of which only out valued by his soul

so many good days ahead

just like his mama always said
