My sophomore year I was

My sophomore year I was innocent and pure,

Little did I know what I was about to endure.

In September I shed just a couple of tears,

On behalf of the actions of my peers.

They told me to die that I was unworthy of life,

I began to believe them but I continued to fight.

As October passed I kept my head down,

It protected me from the mean kids that encompassed my town.

November, I lost all feeling in the body I reside,

I was lonely and broken so I hid and I cried.

December was dark and the darkness did not fade,

My self confidence began to plummet and so did my grades.

As I hit rock bottom I did not want to perservere,

So I prayed to my Lord, but His voice I did not hear.

As January came, I prayed for my faith not to decay,

I devoted myself to the Lord I could feel the sadness drift away.

I consumed my soul with the word of the Lord,

The bullies that haunted me I learned to ignore.

I grew present and motivated by the light of each day,

For the scripture had taught me the Lord I obey.

I dreamed of the days where hope would rush through my soul,

That dream is now reality and my heart is whole.

I am inspired by my God and all of his love,

When I feel the darkness I look up above.

Through the most trying moments of your life,

God will not leave you alone to battle the strife.

Let the Lord light your soul on fire,

And your own faith you will soon admire.
