My Soul Adores Thee

My Soul Adores Thee

What is this, my soul, that reflects so distinctly

thy ancient beauties and educates the psyche

with beauteous rhymes and simple lovelies?

Where dost it reside within this frame that captures universal sights?

Whose splended authorship resides not within, but without

in glorious simplicity too complicated for this poor soul's comprehensions.

I saw you seeing me in the light from third eye's vision.

And wondered at your gift of soul to me; a fool of fools unworthy

of your contempt, let alone your loving touch.

My soul, my soul, polished with the grit of thy love's brick and sand,

held close upon thy knee, resembles thy Son's passion

and shames my thought to humiliy.
