My Soulmate
J’Lah Jones
My Soulmate
The warm way you wrap around me,
And the dreams of where we will be.
Like a psychic, I can see our fate.
Sound the hounds, I found my perfect mate.
You are my teddy bear, cuddled close every night.
Take away my stress, never leave filled with fright.
Every moment I think of you, my heart starts to slow.
My love is that flower that never fails to grow.
Finally realizing you are my Achilles heel.
My mouth is never afraid to say what it feels.
In the sky, the sun is not high, so I make the lights dim.
You sit and admire me bowing my head as I pray to Him.
When I wake in the morning, my soul fills with gloom.
Every single departure always comes too soon.
This ode to my bed is like a love letter to that one.
17 years strong, and we have only just begun.
