My Soul's Mirror

I would love to wish for peace Or for a lover who cares But truly? I cannot speak too loudly of my wish For that could give me hope But I wish for a chance To meet someone who listens to me And understands my sarcasm Encourages my dreams Listens to my troubles Doesn't laugh at me But most of all Someone who asks if I'm okay And actually expects an answer Not just a generic one Who cares and listens Even when times are tough Because we would give up anything for each other And that's the heartbreaking part

Exactly. They try to laugh off the things you find hard, or ignore something that you find really important.

If it makes you feel better, me too, I have friends I guess. But no one like me, no one who understands me or knows me or knows what I'm going through.

I love writing poems without heavy editing, leaving them raw, in a way. This is one of my deepest poems. I hope you like it. I have friends, but none of them completely understand me. They all have their own thoughts about the world, and it is different from mine. I am ok with that, I just wish I had someone- although I am sure you realized that from my poem. :)
