My Special Book
Why are you so hard to read,
You’re like a college book when I was in first grade,
Simple structure, but extravagantly laid,
And I don’t understand this book’s meaning
Like I don’t understand you,
Like how much I really want to,
But you should know because I know I highlighted key points in this book to get a better understanding,
Understanding just like I read this book on spark notes,
But spark notes has no information on you
And that makes you a special book,
And they say don’t judge a book by its cover,
But the cover isn’t showing me anything to judge and the inside is just words,
Words like no, moment, friends, and queen,
So I can’t judge this book at all but I can call it queen,
Because all I see is queen written on the cover,
With a soft cover gentle to the touch,
And I just want to touch but not be too touchy,
Because these fingers can knock a cup of water over,
But I’m not talking about water, I’m talking about tears
Why are you so hard to find answers,
I’m like a little girl whose step dad raped her asking “Mama why did daddy touch me”,
But mama doesn’t know the answer either
And both are stuck searching for answers that can’t be found
Why are you so hard to find answers,
You’re back of the book contains no glossary,
And I can’t even find your definition,
And the index contains no clues so I have no guidance,
But I only want you to guide me in the right direction,
Like a blind man with a guide dog and that’s dependability,
I want to depend on you like you can depend on me,
Just lead me some kind of way,
And I know people who picked p this book
Who easily understood it in one look and just threw you away like you didn’t matter,
But they don’t understand how valuable you are,
So I pick up this book and wipe the spit stains away,
Straighten all of the creases on the bent pages,
And make you look brand new again
Because this can be a brand new thing,
So let me put white out on everyone’s name before me,
So my name will be the only one you see
And you can be my special book.
