My Stars

I lie on the cold,

Frosty and sparkling ground

As I gaze wistfully at them,

Those burning,

Magnificent stars,

Longing to be with them

And become one with them,

The beauties of the night;

I fall asleep

As they twinkle a lullaby to me,

Making me dream of better skies;

The constellations dance with me

As I twirl in the chilly air

On numbing bare feet;

Their brilliant lights

Shine a disco ball

All around me

Until I fall dizzy,

Laughing and giggling,

My energy temporarily restored;

My stars love me

And care for me

As they help me see

Beyond the fear of the darkness;

My stars are my own.

I have been writing poetry for 5 years now and I have a collection of over 600 original poems I've made. I submitted a poem to Appelley Publishing and was published in the 2018 addition of their poetry book. I love to read and write, and I have a cat and a hamster.
