It's hard to believe

It's only been a year

Since I let you into my life

You've been good to me

You've leant me an ear

When I can't handle my strife

We've come a long way

From where we began

My life was once gray

We've walked hand in hand

Into a brighter future

We have our ups and downs

We've smiled and we've frowned

But we did it together

And now I consider you my mother
