My Story
I wasn’t always a writer
Well
I suppose I was
But before, I didn’t use the page
I went through a dark time
Sometimes I’m still in that time
It was a time where nothing was real
And pain was pain
Inside, my head swirled
It went crazy
I was trying to figure out what the world was
For me, it was pain
I had to express that
I don’t know what I thought I was doing
But I found a blade
And made myself bleed
It was a rush like never before
For a moment, things were okay
The world made sense
And I was happy
My body was my page
My blood, my words
It all made sense
Life was fine
Days crept by
Months eventually passed
I found a real page
I found my words
These lines and pages I fill
Keep my body safe
Sometimes
They keep me alive
I’ve changed my ways
I found the sun
I found the light the world has to offer
I found my poems
Though it may seem silly
Irrational
Stupid
Ignorant
These are my ways
My thoughts
My words
My emotions
Stanzas and lines
Syllables and words
Together, they can tell a story
Well, here I am
And this is my story
