My Story

My life; not a pretty story.

One that's easy to pass.

Not one easily forgotten.

Death and darkness surrounds,

No light at the end of the tunnel,

No light at all.

Lost; Misunderstood; Pained; Hopeless;

Most of all, Scared.

All of that till the day I met him.

With his eyes blue and green like the ocean itself.

His smile so soft it could make a butterflies wings curl in envy.

His voice like velvet,

His laugh is perfection.

Now?

No I'm not lost; I'm found.

Everyone has a happy ending,

Mine took a long while,

But I've caught it finally.

The sun shines brighter now,

The birds chirp sweeter,

And the reflection in the mirror,

Yes that's me,

Shows signs of a smile;

Of beauty.

And all it took was three simple words.

Ones that can erupt your torso into a million butterflies.

Eight letters, three words, one meaning.

I love you.
