My Strength

Sometimes I wonder where I get my strength,
Strength to get up and defy the odds.
They expect me to fail, to be just like the rest.

Through the fires and the rain, I've crawled my way from gutter.
Ignoring the doubts and the barbs thrown my way,
I find my strength in the satisfaction of proving them wrong.

What fuels my strength the most is the ones I love.
They give me strength when I have none of my own left to give.
It's through their words and actions that inspire me, their own experiences
and actions that help me find the strength to rise up and conquer.
