My Suicidal Friend

His favorite color is red

He was born in the spring

He’d send me beautiful flowers that he’d seen

His name means manly

He is all the things a girl could want

But there's a few problem

A couple of missing screws

He wants to end his life

And leave me all blue

He’s my baby you see

And that makes me sad

Also mad that i can't help him

Despite my pleas

He’s come up with a plan

On how to end his life

He’s told me this plan just once not twice

His fears are taking over him

And he says he doesn't want to go on

He’ll leave me all alone

If he decides to go

He feels guilty for things beyond his control

He's one of the strong people in my life

Stress piles up upon him

I fear for his life

A gun to the temple

You can't clean that up like dry rice

I’m helpless

But he says I’m great

He says it's not my fault,

That its for his own sake

Life is an escalator of problems and mess

And just like it goes up it also goes down

But when can we meet on common ground.

Right now I’m scared of the what ifs

And the future that is to come

He has a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a nephew, a niece

And other people that he’ll leave

I’ve tried to reason with him

Make him see that there is a way out

But now my eyes are all red

Red his favorite color

Red the color of blood

Oh my what have I done

I can picture the scenario playing out in my head

Him cocking the gun and saying silent goodbyes

What would his last words be to me?

“I’m sorry”

No hun I’m sorry because you deserve better

You deserve so much more than the cards you were dealt

Please just please stay with me

I am a high school senior. Riding between waves of knowledge and confusion. The path to knowledge was never said to be easy, But I can tell you it was worth it. I'm almost finished Then the next chapter will arise Because higher knowledge has always been The greatest prize.
