My Summer Love

Something gentle, something soft,

But in a warm breeze it was lost.

It was never meant to stay,

And maybe its better that way.

I miss the arms that held me tight,

The talks that lasted well into the night.

We could do anything, you and I

Painting our own patterns in the night sky.

You talked of music, and put a new song in my heart,

Then went and left me alone in the dark.

Now the skies aren’t as blue,

But I just wasn’t meant to be with you.
