My Sun

They creep up when I'm all alone Like a whisper in the dark My mind is not my own One by one they attack my insecurities like a shark Trying to escape my own mind I begin to drown Thoughts choking me on the inside though I laugh on the out Held captive like a prisoner in town Hiding my shame and pain trying not to pout The tears never fall and my heart locked away Only through words are my true feeling shared As I return to my solitude at the end of everyday Afraid to reach out to find that nobody really cared So I walk through life alone followed by a cloud of darkness I can't shake the cloud but then she came with that smile She out shined the darkness With her I have hope at least for short while When she leaves the dark returns She is my sun I stand invincible next to her though sometimes her words burn But for me she's the only one.
