My Sunshine

Not even the sun could resist,

giving this sweet boy a kiss,

the red on his cheeks were the proof.

But only a small few,

could say that they knew,

the troubles of this angel youth.

How lucky is he,

that destiny could see,

a family where he would belong.

How much did it take?

Did his little heart break?

What right could fix all that’s wrong?

He’s one of us now,

I do not know how,

he’ll grow up and look back at things.

But we love and we pray

for him everyday,

and the joy that his sunny smile brings.
