My Superman

Whenever I start to lose control

He holds my hand and says,

“Everything will be okay”

And I believe him

He is my superman

He keeps me strong when I feel weak

When I fear the world,

And he shows me a new one

I am a ball of anxiety, ready to explode

He is my pail of water to put out the flames

When I shake, he holds me close

And I know I am safe

I need my superman

When he’s gone I am alone

Without him, anxiety has no opponent

And I cannot move on

He is more powerful than medication

He calms me in an instant

Without him, I fear life itself

And I know that I need my superman
