To My Sweetheart

To My Sweetheart: In seventh grade we met Nearly eight years ago And yet we are still together Like the mountains and the snow We do not fight, we only love And love to be with one another You tease me whenever I get upset over the smallest things And I always calm down because I know you’re right. No matter what I do you’re always there. You say you’re the lucky one But that is simply not true. I will never be able to say how much you mean to me. But I hope that as time goes on I can try To show you that I am the lucky one Instead of you But if I really think about it Maybe we are both lucky To have met each other At such a horrible time in our lives I helped you Then you helped me I guess what I’ve been trying to say is: I love you Sweetheart and I always will.
