To My Teacher
I am born from a seed
I grow with every Spring
Find a challenge at each harsh winter
I bloom into a wildflower
I spread my roots
Growing everywhere I do not belong
Day by day I must worry about being picked
I am delicate yet complex
My petals were plucked by YOU
As each weary day went on
I tried to show my beauty
But alas you wethered my petals to nothing
Picking what was left of my beauty
Like a hot summer's day you wore me down to my very core
Am I not enough?
Why must you compare me to the rest of the garden
Mustn't you forget that I cannot grow back-
Easily
That I can not change myself
Despite you feelings towards me
I will continue to rebloom each season
I am proud to be the flower I am.
