My Temple

"My body is my temple" If we're going to use that metaphor It is a temple in ruins A temple weathered by wind and rain It is a temple with no soul A temple with no hope It is a temple to a god who gave up on it long ago It is a temple defiled, raped, and pillaged A temple without a cause It is a temple to nothing I suppose My body is my temple But my temple is rotten My temple has nothing to offer To a world wanting everything
