My Thanks To You

Rhythm and rhyme,
With activities that cost a measly dime.
Alliteration and assonance,
The more you use the merrier.
Oxymoron and paradox,
We use them in this small world after all.
Personification and onomatopoeia,
You hear them when they buzz.

Romeo and Juliet,
Oh, the irony and foils!
Animal Farm and TKAM,
The novels that live on.
And Shakespeare and Poe,
Your favorite poets that I know.

These are few of the things we did
And that will always be engraved in my head.
I may not have been the greatest of students,
And you may forget me within a year, but forever I will remember you.
