My Thoughts

Tick, tock,

Trillions of thoughts race through in an instant.

Thoughts I think,

Thoughts I feel,

Some are seized,

Some are abandoned,

Scattered and structured,

Thoughts rise and sink,

Waves of images, letters, numbers and sounds.

My mind is the cabinet and my thoughts are the files.

No, my mind is the ocean and my thoughts are the water.

No, my mind is the canvas and my thoughts are the paint.

No, my mind is the machine and my thoughts are the code.

No, my mind is the music and my thoughts are the notes.

No.

My mind is my mind and my thoughts are my thoughts.

Here and there,

Gone and back,

Sensible and nonsensical,

Fleeting and firm,

My thoughts caress information they're fed,

No, my thoughts shred information they're fed,

My thoughts are my thoughts…

Or are they?

Are they a compilation of only previous thoughts- painted, coded, written by others?

Tick, tock,

It amazes how one could get lost in thought,

Simply staring at the face of a clock.
