To my Thoughts

Dear Thoughts,

I would like to understand

why you clutter my mind.

Fill empty time with your negativity.

Why you hate me so much.

Even on good days

you find ways to turn sour.

Pulling me down into the dark hole

you call home.

Holding me hostage in an intangible prison.

You are incessant.

Unrelenting.

Restless.

But I hope that one day

you find peace

and happiness.

And we can be friends again.
