My Thoughts and Subconscious By Deonte' Lee

To express the entire entity of who I am I write. I write for the fact that living in this world of a billion people I stand alone with a voice stifled and unheard. I radiate my essence by writing poetry this is what I claim as my truth and uniqueness. My uniqueness is my poetry and within it I express my essence, I write to express my heart and mind’s deepest secrets. The frustrations of being gay in swarms of radiating heterosexuals. The irritations of being among the very few black kids in school who care about their future. I write to remind myself of the feelings felt within the crippling signs of my mother’s fading health, the ostracized feelings cast upon me by the clothes I wear, and to explain realization of the love that I have for someone who doesn’t love me nor want me . I write to expose the words and thoughts hiding within my mind and body. The thoughts that challenge the ideas of happiness. I write to live and to understand who I am. I write to release my voice and the pent up emotions held within the many frames that hold my old colorful soul. I write to find my truth; the truth embedded within my soul.
