my thoughts run free

My thoughts have been caged up for my whole life

But now they’ve been set free and are destined to do right

Whether its by helping people get through rough times

Or by figuring out a way to get an extra dime

To keep our heads above the water

I’m not saying they’re perfect cause at times they do falter

But sometimes they mislead me to the dark

And its at these time that the journey is hard to embark

Because of the past im left with my marks

And I fear one day my mom will find me in a tarp

Moreso a body bag

Cause im too stubborn to let things go just like my dad

And when I see things pass by it just makes me react

Over that I have no control

My body shuts me down and then goes on its own

But ive come to realize that im not alone

So I not only have my house, but other places to call home.
