MY TIME

Scholarship Slam.

Glow-up, Grow Up.

Here we go.

Young, so young,

Learning to crawl and talk,

Finally able to walk.

Mother, Moth-er,

Encouraging, nurturing Mother.

Middle school, high school, why so tough,

At times I cried,

I wanted to hide.

Boop-ditty boop-beep-dap-boop.

Moth-er. Oh Mother, you were right,

You were right.

Words of wisdom shared.

Stay strong and fight,

Stay true to my light,

Be MY person, always MY person.

Glow-up, Grow up.

Finally true to myself.

See me shine, now I will define.

World…it’s MY time.
