My Triumph

I never thought that it would end, The self-hatred I kept in, Afraid of what there was to come, In an endless spiral I sunk, Deeper and deeper until choked, That’s how it felt to be under your wing. You made me think I was alone, With nowhere to turn. That I was a worthless human being, That everyone was better off if I was six feet deep. But I was lucky. I did something you cannot. I overcame your fears, I fought. And I came out on top.
